Brief Overview

DOCK is an international documentary film festival that needed a refreshed, reliable site ahead of a new edition after a one‑year pause. I refined the existing design, cleaned up the WordPress backend, optimized images, and rebuilt key structures so everything is responsive, cohesive, and easy to update. I also designed a custom, on‑brand program experience and structured film pages to match the festival’s identity.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenge

Messy, disorganized site with an inconsistent design and layout.

Solution

Standardized layouts and components; improved responsiveness and structure.

Challenge

A generic program plugin that looked off‑brand and hard to browse.

Solution

Built a custom, on‑brand program and film listing with dedicated film pages.

Challenge

A disorganized backend that made updates slow and error‑prone.

Solution

Reorganized the backend: streamlined content types, fields, and workflows.

The Result

The site is cohesive, fast, and fully responsive, with a branded program experience that replaces the generic plugin and makes browsing films clear and enjoyable. The backend is tidy and dependable, so updates are straightforward, and I create each edition’s schedule custom from the provided details, keeping everything accurate and on brand.
